well... there are so few paintings done from the B& W series-- but i'm offering this one here. it measures slightly bigger than most of the paintings on this blog --
it's a sexy painting.... i did it this year.
Shawney watercolor on Arches 300 lb cp 20" H x 12"W 2008
this lovely painting.... has been reworked from an earlier version. the deeper sepia tones have extra layers of wash... which darken the value. i enjoy it more now. the richness and glow are a bit more evident.
Chocolate Iris watercolor on Arches 140 lb cp 10" H x 10" W 2008 $299
, these small acrylics are reworks of some previous paintings last fall. i enriched the focus.. and softened the edges-- also painted more dramatic fields of color to pump up the drama. the effect is powerful, jewel-like portraits of our 4-legged friends....
Nosey Cows acrylic/panel 11" H X 14 "W 20" H 24" W frame size
Crazy Bananas!... this piece is from the Ecuadorian show i had a few years back. it was a smaller study for a larger painting of bananas. i particularly like the color.. and the build up of bananas. the botanical is a favorite theme of mine... and Ecuador is a major exporter of bananas.
Here is the last of the series--- the grouping that I did for the show in Ecuador. The suite of work made an immediate impact -- but have scattered to collections across the US.
